Fertility Festival

We stopped off in Nagoya to attend the fertility festival. They only have this festival once a year, so we were pretty lucky that we were able to attend.

These are called something like Potatonadars.

Everyone gathered around and they threw little twigs with notes, and then some rice cakes.

They carve a new e that they carve a new penis each year, and march it down the road. We showed up a little late, and weren't able to see the parade. : (

We Finally Made It!

It is Saturday 2:27 PM (Utah), and Sunday 6:27 AM (Japan). I don't think I have ever been so tired in my whole life. When Matthew and I were in the SLC airport, he looked at me and said,
"This will be the longest day of your whole life!" He was right!

Our flight to Japan was REALLY long, and we didn't have internet connection like the Delta representative mentioned we would have. I only slept for about 1 hour during the 12 hour flight. When we got off the plane we had no idea where we were going, so we just followed the crowds. We were able to make it through customs without any problems. Matthew waited for the luggage while I went to the restroom. I walked in and noticed all of the toilets looked like this one below. I immediately thought, "Did I walk into the men's restroom? No, I am pretty sure the sign had a lady on it, and the sign was pink." I was a little freaked out when 5 of the toilets looked like this one, until I found a normal looking toilet at the very back corner of the bathroom.

We got our luggage and then had to try to find our bus that was going to take us to Yokota. We walked around, and around, and around. We couldn't find the bus, and I was getting anxious because if we missed this bus we would have to sit around for another 2 hours until the next bus left. After 45 minutes or so, and a lot of swear words, we found our bus. We got on the bus around 6:00 PM Saturday night in Japan, which would have been 2:00 AM Saturday morning in Utah. We had a 2 hour and 45 minute drive until we got to Yokota. Matthew and I probably slept for about 30 - 45 minutes on the bus.
